Where to Kitesurf in Dubai

Dubai has a short list of beaches where kitesurfing is actually allowed and taught. KiteSurfSUP uses two of them: Jebel Ali Public Beach and Ness Nass Beach. If a blog still points you at a hotel private beach, ignore it. We do not teach there.

Jebel Ali Public Beach

The main school and rental beach. West of the marina sprawl, in front of a long public shoreline. Inside the marked area the water stays shallow for a useful distance. That matters when you are body-dragging or missing a waterstart. The lagoon takes the edge off swell on many days, which is why first lessons live here.

Wind: thermal side-shore / side-on days are common, stronger in the cooler months, still usable on summer afternoons when the land heats. Morning can be softer. We do not guess from an app screenshot you sent at 7am — we look again at 11.

Parking: public beach road. It fills on Fridays. Allow time from Dubai Marina, JVC or Abu Dhabi. There is no valet and no “we held a space”.

Who it suits: beginners, intermediates locking in upwind, anyone renting who wants room. It is less of a spectator beach. That is a feature.

Ness Nass Beach

Jumeirah side. Closer if you are staying near Al Wasl, City Walk or the southern Jumeirah hotels. Still a kite zone, still taught with the same IKO rules. The strip is busier. Depth and shore break change with tide more than Jebel Ali’s lagoon.

Wind: similar thermal pattern. Local buildings and the angle of the coast change how clean it feels on a given day. If Jebel Ali is onshore junk and Ness Nass is cleaner, we move you. If both are poor, we cancel.

Who it suits: riders who can already launch without using 80 metres of empty sand. First-timers can still start here when the forecast and your location make Jebel Ali a wasted hour in the car.

What we do not list as a lesson venue

Hotel lagoons we no longer operate. Random “kite beach” blogs that mean Kite Beach Jumeirah open-water chaos. Private islands you cannot drive to. If it is not Jebel Ali or Ness Nass, it is not on our lesson sheet.

Other water, different product

Dubai Harbour is jetski, jetcar and yachts. You can look at the Palm from a boat. You cannot treat the harbour mouth as a kite school.

How we choose on the day

Forecast direction, strength, tide, how many other schools are already on the sand, and where you are staying. Message in the morning. Do not leave home on a pin drop from last month.
